Summer is here......are you doing something fun?
The last couple of weeks have been a little crazy. I had a head cold that lingered and I didn't feel like blogging. Then my brain took temporary leave and I sun burnt my legs. Yes, I know I should have put sunscreen on and that the sun is more intense here! My ankles swelled and I had welts but thankfully no blisters! Heather also burnt a little bit.
The girls are safely back in the States as of yesterday morning. They are staying with good friends who are like family to us :) They'll be busy catching up with friends, getting ready for their Mexico mission trip with their youth group in July, Heather's looking for a job, they both need to do end of level testing for the school work they did here, babysitting, housesitting, etc.
I've added more pictures from Rome. Amid the heat and crowds we did enjoy our trip and are grateful to have had the opportunity to explore such a historical and beautiful city!
When we go home in 5 weeks I think it will seem surreal that we were here in Italy for 7 months and saw the things we have. It will be interesting to see how living here in Sicily changes our view of life back home.
Tomorrow I plan on doing a post about the Sicily - Rome American Cemetary. It's the last place we visited in the Rome area. It was a day that left my heart in awe and more than one tear rolling down my face.
Blessings to you!
