Geo Caching & Great Food w/ Friends :)

We had our first geo cache adventure of the summer this past Friday. We were joined by our friends Bill, Erin and their kids. We've known them for 9ish years and enjoy their friendship.

We headed to Ogden Valley......there are alot of caches up there. We hunted for 4 of them but only found 3. We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day! 69*, sunny and the beauty of the Valley that I just never get tired of! It's hard to fathom the drought going on in so much of our country because we are on the other end of the spectrum! We've had such a wet spring (rain & snow) and the result (besides flooding & mudslides) is how incredibly green everything is!

We searched for caches in the Middle Fork Wildlife Management Area.
DJ is checking the GPS out while Bill hams it up for the camera!

One of the little creeks we had to cross

We girls went a little out of the way trying to find one of the caches but the view was beautiful :)

Danielle, Sarah & Hannah ~ where do the years go?

Danielle, Ben, Heather, Hannah & Sarah ~ our first cache! Each cache has a title and this one was called  "7 Peeps at Middle Fork".  It was quite an adventure getting back into this one.

Sarah & Bill......geo caching takes you off the beaten path

Danielle did not want to go geo caching at all! She doesn't like hiking anymore and so Erin had to let her know how much she appreciated Dani coming anyway!

The second cache we found was called "ogdencaver1".  It was hidden in a Folgers coffee can.

Ben is signing the notebook. Most caches have a little logbook to keep record of who's found the cache.

The setting got changed on my camera w/o me knowing it until this picture was already taken but thought I'd share it anyway.
Erin is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! I appreciate her friendship :)

Ben and Caleb climbed up to the big rock......Rumor has it they decided to moon everyone......I'm pretty sure I'm glad I missed it! Ha!!

Erin, Heather, Dani & I found the last cache. It was called "The Killer Rabbit Returns". It was found in a military container as many caches are.

This is what was inside......generally you just look at the contents and sign the logbook then return everything as found so the next person can find it.

The very scary "killer rabbit"...ha ha

We ended our day with lunch at the "Huntsville Barbecue Company" ~ One word.......Yummy!
The decor was great!

A wooden birdhouse wrapped in a lisence plate & a wine cork for a chimney

Hannah, Sarah & Heather ~ words can't describe how silly these girls can be :) I love 'em all!
Notice the cool fence made out of skis!

After lunch the kids wandered over to the park and we adults wandered down the street a bit. We walked by these neat old parking meters and signs.......

We came across this pretty and very old house (1872).

It's a B & B these days.

Fresh country air and great food = tired kids!

What a great day! I'm counting our blessings one by one :)

Have a beautiful day!
